Warning over drying clothes on radiators

Putting our clothes on the radiator to dry – we have all done it at some time or another, but did you know this could lead to condensation causing mould and fungus in your home if it is done on a regular basis?

According to BBC News back in March 2016, Medical experts in Manchester are warning people about the dangers of mould growth which can be found in homes when clothes are being dried out on a radiator – www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-35708399

It may not seem like a big problem but when wet clothes begin to dry, the moisture evaporates into the air which could lead to condensation if a window is not open to let the damp air escape. After a period of time, this moisture will start to collect and can cause walls/ceilings to become damp, therefore leading to the possibility of mould growth.

This could then lead to health problems, especially for those with asthma and breathing problems as well as young children and the elderly.

If you think your home could be suffering from damp/condensation and mould, please call us on 0208 751 7290 and book for a damp/condensation inspection.
